The Craft Revolt
We are revolting against the ordinary night out, cheap throwaway gifts, and against being slaves to our couches, apps, and laptops. When we become makers, we can better understand the value of our stuff, our time, and our world. We stand for construction over consumption, we believe that creating art or making a handicraft is a healthy form of stress relief, it builds self-esteem, confidence and inner satisfaction. We want to bring arts and crafts to the community in many forms. We hold Art Classes & Crafting Workshops at our beautiful studio on Houghton and Valencia, as well as at Beads of Courage in mid-town every fourth Friday, and at Delectables Catering and Venue near Tucson mall each Monday night. We also host private parties of up 80 people with a range of different projects to choose from or tell us want you’ld like and we’ll try to make it happen! Ask about our private party packages, we can put something together for your birthday party, corporate lunch or teambuilding event, or we can even come to your school for an educational artist in residence program. We have a range of studio series Art classes including begining oil paining, drawing, and beginning acrylic painting, to more advanced oil painting classes focusing on Impressionism and Post-impressionism, abstract painting, and painting landscapes. We have classes for kids such as drawing, mix-mediums, sewing and more. We also offer social Art workshops such as Paint-&-Sip or Craft-&-Sip workshops every evening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Our popular crafts include dirty pour painting, the macrame’ classes with wall hangings and plant hangers in original designs, and shibori style indigo tie-dye workshops. Visit our website at https://thecraftrevolt.com to see all of the classes and workshops that we offer. *We ask that you sign up 24 hours in advance so that we can prepare materials for you.
